NatureCo shares global insights at Vietnam Carbon Market Readiness Conference
NatureCo was delighted to take part in the Vietnam Carbon Market Readiness Conference in Hanoi, hosted by Flinders University, the Vietnam Administration of Forestry, CARE International, The University of British Columbia and CIFOR-ICRAF.
Our CEO Todd Berkinshaw joined policymakers, researchers and a select group of regional carbon developers to share practical insights and learnings from NatureCo’s experience across the global nature-based carbon market.
Discussions highlighted a strong sense of momentum and ambition, with several key themes standing out:
▸ Vietnam is rapidly advancing the regulatory foundations needed to attract international investment, including updates on the Forest Carbon Decree and the development of the National Forest Standard.
▸ Government signals around Article 6 cooperation, particularly with Singapore, are creating confidence for future cross-border credit transfers.
▸ Predictability, transparency and strong national standards are recognised as the cornerstone of scaling private capital for nature-based solutions.
▸ Vietnam holds immense potential for mangrove restoration, upland forest recovery, regenerative agriculture and community-based forestry.
▸ With its emerging carbon framework and strong community institutions, Vietnam is poised to become a regional leader in high-integrity land-use carbon markets.
Looking ahead, NatureCo is excited to continue working in collaboration with partners as Vietnam’s carbon market continues to take shape and scale.
