NatureCo and World Vision collaborate on restoration projects in Kenya and Rwanda
Mark Graeme and Aparna Tyagi recently joined Daniel Mission and Silvio Dorati from World Vision Australia on a two-country field trip to Rwanda and Kenya, conducting technical due diligence and early community engagement for two agroforestry and reforestation (ARR) carbon projects.
In partnership with World Vision Rwanda and World Vision Kenya, NatureCo and World Vision are collaborating to develop these ARR projects with a shared goal to restore ecosystems, support sustainable livelihoods and deliver measurable climate benefits.
The Rwanda project will focus on restoring degraded forest landscapes and expanding agroforestry across six districts, aiming to strengthen community resilience and improve natural resource management. In Kenya, the Water Towers project targets reforestation across the Mau Forest Complex and Mt. Elgon regions to build resilient, biodiverse landscapes that support both local communities and critical ecosystems.
Throughout the visit, the team reinforced our valuable relationships with local stakeholders and implementation partners, conducted field visits to ground-truth project eligibility and engage communities, and aligned project plans with national and sub-national priorities through coordination with government agencies.
This effort is a powerful example of how science, community engagement and collaborative partnerships can come together to deliver scalable, nature-based climate solutions. If you would like to get involved or find out more about these exciting initiatives, get in touch today.
